Worship Guitar Class Volume 1 Review

Posted in Reviews

Jean Welles offers her Worship Guitar class in two formats: one for children ages 5-9 and one for anyone 10+.  As part of the TOS Crew, we received the Worship Guitar Class Volume One.

Since we are already working on learning the guitar, we were excited to receive this class.  We soon found out that this wasn’t (in our opinion) a complete guitar class.  The class does a nice job teaching you to play the worship songs, but you are going to need an additional program if you want music theory and a more in depth guitar study.

The course covers the parts of the guitar, tuning the guitar, how to hold a guitar, and how to read chords.  In this series, you will receive step-by-step instruction that is appropriate even for beginners.  The dvd contains both an English & a Spanish version.  Jean’s love of the Lord shines through all of her lessons.

Both Munchkin and D enjoyed the fact that they were able to learn some new songs.  They also quickly found that they needed to keep rewinding the dvd in order to truly be able to grasp the lessons being taught.  Thankfully, the songbook helped with this issue.  I highly recommend having both the dvd and the book for a complete learning experience.

With Volume One, you will learn to play:

  • He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands
  • My All In All
  • More Precious than Silver
  • Take My Life
  • Lord, I Lift Your Name on High
  • This Is the Day
  • I Love You, Lord

Overall, we felt this was a good course for learning specific worship songs.  For us, it will be a good supplement to the guitar course that we are using.  If you do not want/need all of the music theory in a guitar course, this would be a good stand alone program for you.  For maximum benefit, you would want to go through the entire 4 Volume set.

The Worship Guitar Course Volume One (dvd & book) are available for $29.95.  Volumes Two – Four are also available to $29.95 each, or you can purchase the entire set (Volumes One – Four dvds & books) for $119.80.

Want to try it before you buy it?  You can view the first lesson for free here.  Click on the banner below to see what others had to say about the program.

I received the Worship Guitar Volume One class for the purpose of this review.
No other compensation was received.  All opinions are my own.
