Practical Mathematics

Posted in Homeschooling

Currently, Munchkin is not working with her traditional math book. Instead, we have been doing some practical application in preparation for our upcoming move. This week, we are working on trip planning. For most of these activities, I created lapbook components to go put in our Creation Science lapbook. Mile to Kilometer Conversions She has converted miles to kilometers for the distance that we will travel. She has calculated how many miles we would need to travel per day if we want to make it to our new location in X days. She has calculated how many days it would…

Back to Basics Online Cooking Class Registration Starts Today!!

Posted in Announcements, and Commercial Break

As you know, Munchkin and I really enjoyed the Back to Basics Cooking Class offered by Shelley from One Roast Vegetable. Since I don’t want you to miss out on this great class, I wanted to post a reminder that the registration for the the next 14-week Back to Basics Cooking Class begins today, April 28th. Pa traded Pet and Patty (their horses) for the land. He traded Bunny, the mule-colt, and the wagon for the crops and the oxen. Chapter Two The Sod House: Describe the Ingalls new house. Chapter Three Chores: What chores did Mary and Laura have to do before they could play? They had to do the dishes, make their beds, and…

Birthday, Cousins, Fun

Posted in Family, Holidays, and Thoughts

This last week was a whirlwind of activity. We ended up having family stay for most of this past week. Our unexpected company made for a very happy birthday for Munchkin. Since we rarely get to spend birthdays with family, this was a fun treat. There were many early mornings as the cousins were eager to play together. On Saturday, Munchkin had her first baseball game, and she had her own little cheering section. The weather was beautiful, and she had fun. We enjoyed grilled sausages and turkey franks after the game. Then we had homemade cupcakes in honor of…
