Homeschool Memoirs: Agendas

We’re actually getting ready to wrap up our school year in October. We’ll be taking a break once D gets home. We’ll start our new year once he heads back to work. I’ll just go over what we plan on doing for the rest of this school year….

We use the Weaver curriculum which is a Bible based unit study curriculum. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be continuing our study on the life of Christ. In science/history, we’ll be studying about mountains, earthquakes, weather, and simple machines. We’ll be lapbooking these studies.

Munchkin will continue her math work in Teaching Textbooks pre-Algebra and Horizons grade 6 math. Next week, we’ll be adding back in Spanish. (We took a break from it during the summer.) Her writing and typing practice go along with the unit study. We’ll be working grammar and spelling in where needed.

We’ll be continuing our study of the Presidents and States by learning about one president and one state per week. This will obviously continue into next year as well. Munchkin usually has one other topic that she’s learning about on her own. She may or may not decide to lapbook about that topic.

This is the first time I’ve visited your blog. I pray your husband returns home safely – sounds like “only” 1 1/2 months to go! God has given you amazing grace. May He bless the remainder of your school year as you count down the days until the “principle” comes home!
