Tackle it Tuesday: Baking

Posted in Homemaking

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Last night, while munchkin was at gymnastics, D informs me that we don’t have anything for his lunch other than the actual lunch. In other words, he needs some snackage. So, today’s Tackle It Tuesday task is to get a bunch of baking done with my daughter. In the plans are: brownies, cookies, and oatmeal bars. Now, I’ve never made these oatmeal bars, but I keep saying that I’m going to try. Well, today, I’ve decided it’s time to do it. We already have all the stuff that we need, so now, it’s time to just get it done. We’ll be making our oatmeal/granola bars with peanut butter instead of jam as that’s what munchkin prefers.

I’ll update later. Hopefully with some yummy pictures.

***Update*** Here are the pictures of the oatmeal bars (yummy) and brownies and 1 batch of cookies. We ended up doing m&m/chocolate chip and peanut butter chip/chocolate chip. There is also a picture of the completed goodies in their containers. I think he should have enough goodies for at least a little while.

Brownies

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Oatmeal Bars

Finished Baked Goods

Good luck with your bakery ! I am far too lazy to bake cookies, even in the past, it’s much quicker done when I buy them in a shop. But then of course they wouldn’t be so nice than yours.

Baking, hmmm, oh yeah. That’s what happened to my kitchen this week. I thought maybe a flour bomb exploded. I’m going to have to wait until my kids are older before I get ambitious. Good luck with all your baking.

Wow! Those brownies look fabulous. I’m glad you posted about baking snacks for your husband. I do pretty well with cooking extra for my husband to take for lunch (he’s an army guy), but never even thought about snacks! Great motivation for me today. thanks!

Thanks for all the kind comments. I love baking, but I haven’t really made much time for it since before Christmas. The house smells so good now. It will be a pleasant surprise for D when he gets home.

What a great tackle…to do something for someone else. Those snacks look yummy. Do you have a recipe for the oatmeal bars that you’ll be posting?
